Distribution:
Circumglobal.
Remarks:
Goblin Sharks have a scattered distribution throughout the eastern and western Atlantic, South Africa, and western Pacific.
Their snout is greatly elongated and has flattened bladelike projection. They have small eyes and protusible jaws. Caudal fin is long but lower surface lobe is not developed.
Maximum length 3.8 m.
This family contains only one species.
